Louisiana Technical College Region Seven consists of nine parishes in northwest Louisiana: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine and Webster. The district is served by five campuses of the LTC: Mansfield, Natchitoches, Northwest (Minden), Sabine Valley (Many), and the Shreveport Bossier Campus. In the nine-parish area comprising Region Seven, the estimated 2006 population (U.S. Census) was 520,000, The Shreveport-Bossier City-Minden Combined Statistical Area (CSA) is made up of four parishes in Northwestern Louisiana, Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto, Natchitoches, Sabine, and Webster. As of the 2000 census, the CSA had a population of 417,796 (though a July 1, 2006 estimate placed the population at 428,079). Region 7 campuses: Approximately one-third of the region’s residents are African American. Women comprise approximately 52% of the district’s population. Seventy-three percent of the people employed were Private wage and salary workers; 22 percent were Federal, state, or local government workers; and 5 percent were Self-employed, according to the U.S. Census. The median income of households in Shreveport--Bossier City-Minden CSA was $35,201.
