Spring 2011 Registration Process

Important dates below:
Spring Session Dates:   January 13– May 9, 2011

Early Registration:    November 8- December 2, 2010                 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Registration Dates: 

            January 10, 2011  9:00 AM - 11:00 AM & 12:00 PM- 3:00 PM                        

            January 11, 2011   9:00 AM - 11:00 AM & 12:00 PM- 6:00 PM

            January 12, 2011   9:00 AM - 11:00 AM & 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

            Class Begins:          January 13, 2011

            Deadline to use book vouchers:         January 14, 2011

            FAFSA deadline for Summer 2011-2012:   April 1, 2011

            Spring Graduation:         May 12, 2011 6:00 PM
Enrollment Procedure:

  • Complete an application for admission and take COMPASS ESL placement exam, a computerized test.  Cost is $20.00.
  • Placement exam is available Tuesdays - Thursdays at 9:00a.m., 12:00p.m., or 2:00p.m.

  • ACT taken within the last three years, may be substituted for the COMPASS test (except Nursing applicants).
  • Submit official high school transcript or GED scores
  • Register (see dates above) and Apply for Financial Aid (see below), if needed

Applying for Financial Aid (Pell Grant):

  • DEADLINE to submit your application online is July 1, 2010
    Apply on-line at  Apply for PIN Number. Use yours and/or parents 2009 income tax/earned income information.  Click on award year 2010-2011.  The school code is 016998. 
  • Complete a financial aid packet from the financial aid office and make an appointment with the F.A. Officer. Bring all financial documents to financial aid review appointments.
    Requirements to receive a Pell Grant :  High School diploma or GED, US citizen, valid social security number, cannot be in default of a student loan, conviction for drug-related offences affects eligibility, award is based on financial need, cost of attendance and enrollment status.
    After submitting FAFSA online and completing a LTC financial aid packet, review eligibility with F.A. Officer.
  • Eligible Pell recipients will use a LTC HIGHER ONE debit card to receive pell refunds, if applicable.  You MUST provide a valid mailing address.

Ordering Books:  LTC Shreveport uses a virtual bookstore.  Students are responsible for ordering their own books before the semester begins.  They may be purchased at or another source.
